FREE!!! Quick and easy home DIY solution.

You just found the perfect wall decor to fulfill and complete that final wall in a room. You’ve searched for months… and behold… you found it online one evening while watching an episode from the infinite season of the Bachelor. Or… maybe you created that art piece or collection of pieces yourself to fulfill that empty wall.

As you go to hang your new favorite piece(s) on your wall, all you focus on is the ugly nail wall mount. Well, here’s a FREE, quick, and easy home DIY hack for hiding that ugly mount detracting from your wall art.

Unlike with most picture frames and painting where the support nails can be hidden within the frame or framework of the art, this post covers (pardon the pun) exposed, ugly nail(s) and wall mounts that detract from the art itself.

As you know, much of art is in the details. Even that smallest, pesky detail like an ugly nickel nail can distract from how the art makes your feel.

So here is my simple solution that takes less time than reading this quick post.

Estimated Time to Complete

Once you have the items needed which we’ll get to in a moment, this design solution takes less than two minute.

Level of Difficulty

Very easy!

Cost

FREE!

Items Needed

Picture
  • 1-2 Nails depending on the size of the wall art… (optional: preferably with heads)
  • Hammer
  • Pencil (for marking nail spot)
  • A medium to large broach or pin backing as shown (to be able to attach nails)

Broach that dusty jewelry box at the back of your closet for those art gems like costume pins or heirloom broaches for repurposing or upscaling into that final detail that completes your hanging wall art.

Instructions

Once you’ve found that ideal spot for your wall art….
  • Use pencil to mark wall for where nail(s) go
  • Hammer nail(s) in wall
  • Hang wall art
  • Hook pin or broach over nail head(s)
And that’s it. Quick and easy peasy!

Again, here’s how it worked out for me. The butterfly broach from from my dusty jewelry box goes perfectly with the natural Boho style of the large macrame wall hanging for the (prior) lonely wall space.

So make your wall mount one of those details that enhances (rather that detracts) from your wall art and decor. Bring the fun and sophistication to your design…. for FREE… in under 2 minutes.
